8 Things To Do For Your Business This Month

By Sabrina Espinal 1:41 pm

8 things to do right now for your business

Sometimes we all forget to take care of our business while we are busy taking care or business. Here is a great “go-to” list of quick things you can do to keep your brand looking sharp.

PINTEREST

  • Clean up your boards and add boards that make sense for your business.
  • Rearrange your boards so the most important and/or fun boards are at the top.
  • Update your Pinterest photo, bio and links to your website and social networks.
  • Edit your board and change the cover photo.

FACEBOOK

  • Change your timeline cover this month and make a habit to change it often.
  • Run a $10 “boosted post” and grab the attention of your audience.
  • Cross post your most important content on your personal Facebook page.
  • Let your friends on your personal page know what your business offers.

TWITTER

  • Update your cover photo and your bio.
  • Get the most out of Twitter by creating lists.
  • Stay on Twitter and respond to your audience and give Twitter love back to others.
  • Check the links in your bio and make sure that they are correct.

YOUR WEBSITE

  • Look at your website like a stranger and make notes of small changes that you want.
  • Do you have a sidebar on your site? Delete any information that isn’t important.
  • Make sure your social icons are up to date and that they link properly.
  • Pin and share all of your work from your website. Google loves to index and active website.
  • Update or remove affiliate links that are no longer relevant.

BLOG POSTS

  • Write an article about your most important brand focus for the month.
  • Include links and a “call to action” in your blog posts.
  • Make a plan to blog at least once a month to keep your site active.
  • Take time to clean up and create the right categories for your blog posts.

BUSINESS CARDS

  • Look at your business cards and make a plan to update and refresh your cards.
  • Try a different finish, different size, new style or a bold color on your business cards.

INSTAGRAM

  • Review your Instagram images.
  • Do the images flow together and make sense?
  • Does the over all theme reflect what you want to project about yourself and your brand?
  • Review and update your bio and make sure your link is working.

EMAIL MARKETING

  • Make plans to send a short monthly email campaign to your followers.
  • Send out a short email marketing letter and give your audience something they can use.
  • Every now and then, send an email campaign and don’t sell anything.
  • Send out an email campaign once a month to let your audience know you are still in business.

And a bonus tip!
  • Start branding your images with your website url.

Getting Started On Instagram

Getting Started on Instagram

12-31-2014 9-03-12 AMAre you just getting started on Instagram? Here are a few quick set-up steps you can use to make sure your brand takes full advantage of the platform right away. Included are Support links for each step in case you need any further explanation of how something works.

Instagram is a mobile application. You can’t upload pictures via your desktop but you can view accounts and comment via your desktop.

Here are the details on getting started:

  1. Sign up for an Instagram account and choose a username that clearly represents your brand
  2. Add a profile photo, a biography and a link to your website
  3. Link your account to Facebook and many other third-party sharing sites where you have an account by going to your Account Settings > Share Settings). This will allow you to:
    • Share photos to those services, including your brand’s Facebook page if you are an Apple iOS user (we hope to make this feature available for Android in the future).
    • Let your Facebook friends find you easily when using our Find Friends tool (Account Settings > Find People to Follow > Facebook Friends). It’ll also create a news story in Instagram for anyone who follows you on Facebook and has linked their Facebook account to Instagram.
  4. Announce to your Facebook followers that you’re on Instagram. Let them know your Instagram username and show non-iPhone/Android followers where they can see your Instagram photos.
  5. Use and search tags to connect with your audience:
    • Tips for using hashtags
  6. Start sharing photos on Instagram and across your other social networks.

Bacon, Egg & Hash Brown Casserole

By Sabrina Espinal 6:59 am

Slow-Cooker-Bacon-Egg-Hashbrown-Casserole-4

Break Time! I love to cook and I should post more recipes on Sabrina&Company because “all work and no play” just isn’t fun.  This delicious recipe on Pinterest is perfect for Christmas morning or any family event.  As seen on Pinterest and According to Elle.

Slow cookers are truly magical kitchen appliances. I mean, really. No matter what you throw into it or how long you think you’ve overcooked it, whatever it is you’re making comes out freaking amazing.

Exhibit A: This slow cooker egg casserole that I completely abandoned on the countertop for well over 3 hours, during which time I nearly emptied the shelves at our local Trader Joe’s, made (and drank) 2 homemade pumpkin spice lattes, washed and dried and folded two loads of laundry.

Whew.

It probably won’t surprise you when I say I nearly dove head first into this bad boy after walking in the door from my run.

This slow cooker egg casserole is like one of the easiest things you could cook and still actually be proud of. Eggs cook amazingly well in the slow cooker which makes this a perfect dish for a post-Turkey Trot breakfast or a Black Friday brunch.

The key to keeping it super simple is using frozen, already shredded hash browns. Yes–I used frozen hash browns and I’m not the slightest bit ashamed because, when they’re covered with eggs, bacon, cheese and green onions and slow cooked to perfection–who cares?

If you must, feel free to brown your frozen hash browns a bit on the stove before layering them into the bottom of the slow cooker. I had to, so no judgments will be passed, but it doubles the work for no noticeable difference. You know why? Because all potatoes come out soft and delicious after a few hours in the slow cooker no matter what you do to them beforehand.

What makes this breakfast casserole different (and arguably better) is that it’s healthier than most! Eggs pack high-quality protein as well as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and all that bacon comes out to just 1  slice per person. Let’s be honest… that’s way less than I’d eat under any other circumstance.

Here are three other completely awesome (and unexpected) reasons I love this crock pot breakfast concept:

1.  Eggs are an incredibly affordable breakfast option. Serving this for a big group brunch will leave more money in your pocket for holiday gifts this season.

2. Slow cooker egg casseroles free up your hands for far more important tasks like popping bottles for mimosas.

3.  If you’re down with having breakfast for dinner on occasion, this reheats like a dream in the toaster oven, perfect for those weeknights you’re too wiped to cook.

Slow-Cooker-Bacon-Egg-Hashbrown-Casserole-5

Serves: 8 | Serving Size: approx. 6 ounces

INGREDIENTS

20-ounce bag frozen, shredded hash browns (I used Trader Joe’s)
8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and coarsely chopped
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
6 green onions, sliced thin
12 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Cooking oil (to lightly coat slow cooker)
Optional toppings: Fresh salsa, hot sauce & avocado

DIRECTIONS

Lightly grease your slow cooker with cooking oil. Layer half of the hash browns into the bottom and top with half the bacon, half the cheese, and one-third of the green onions. Set aside some bacon and green onion for garnish and then repeat with a second layer of hash brown, bacon, cheese, and onion.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper and slowly pour over top. Cook until eggs are set, approximately 2-3 hours on high, or 4-5 hours on low. Sprinkle remaining bacon and onions on top and serve immediately, with or without hot sauce.

5 Secrets To My Business Success

By Sabrina Espinal 12:02 pm

secret to my successLet me share 5 quick secrets to my business success as I get ready to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of Sabrina&Company Marketing this summer.

My 5 Success Principles:

  1. It’s not you, it’s the customer: Never offer something you think your customer should have. Offer what they need.
  2. Don’t envy what others are doing: Be unique! Concentrate on building your niche business and style. Don’t copy.
  3. Market your business in person: Never forget to have “live and in-person” events to market your business.
  4. Fight the “shiny object syndrome”:  It’s a bright shiny world so stay close to your passion and dreams.
  5. Freebies: Know your margin! Don’t give away a free meal and don’t offer deep discounts.

Want 5 More?

  1.  Be Your Brand: Be passionate and live your brand.
  2.  Know when to say “No”:  This is really magic dust for growing your business.
  3. Don’t get lost in the details: Don’t stop yourself from growing your business.
  4. Give them more than expected: And you thought I was going to give you 5 tips!
  5. Make An Impression :)
