Be Enthusiastic About Your Business

By Sabrina Espinal 4:28 pm

Enthusiasm is defined as “a feeling of excitement and active interest” by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Some call it “zest” and see it as being characterized by being “engaged and activated.” Generally speaking, you’ll know you’re feeling enthusiasm when you feel positive, can’t wait to get started, or get lost in a project.

Are people born with enthusiasm? To some degree, yes. In your life, you’ve probably met many people who seem naturally enthusiastic. While some of them have learned these skills, anyone who has been around babies and toddlers will tell you some children are just more prone to being interested and engaged with the world than others. In short, they’re already enthusiastic even when they’re infants, giggling gleefully at each discovery.

At the same time, we can learn enthusiasm. When you teach a child to be interested in the world, awaken their curiosity and instill in them a love of learning, you are guiding them toward becoming more enthusiastic individuals as they grow older.

But what happens when you lose that zest for your business? Can you find it again?  I say yes!

First, take time to focus on your mental health. That can help you see things differently. Also, take small steps of focused learning on what’s good for you (and not just trends) and schedule 1 to 2 sessions with a business coach to map out new create ways you can support your audience/customers.

In simpler words, bring back the enthusiasm that has gone dry. You may be surprised how everyone around you will love the new excited you!

Creating + Managing Your Social

By Sabrina Espinal 2:15 pm

I’m thrilled and honored to be interviewed by Go Solo about my business and entrepreneur life. Go Solo and Subkit know that the “solo entrepreneur” is the future!

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in marketing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sabrina Espinal, Founder of Sabrina&Company Social Marketing, located in New York, NY, USA.

Tell us about yourself

I came from a corporate background in tech and human resources. I had an amazing career, but over time I knew I wanted to move into something more creative, like Marketing. When social media launched for businesses, I was ready to make that move, but no one wanted to give a Human Resources Director a chance. So, in 2009, I took my career into my own hands and decided to start my own business doing this new thing called “social media.” I started with small local restaurants where I dined. And now, over ten years later, I’m still madly in love with social media, my business, creative content, and community building. I even run a small Facebook group to share the latest about social media and enjoying personal self-care.

What’s your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is really a series of great ah-ha moments.

  1. Helping clients build their business from the beginning to the boom.
  2. Writing content for clients that makes their personal brand and business stand out – year after year.
  3. Having the thrill of working with amazing local and international brands…and meeting famous musicians and artists!

What’s one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Honestly, I think one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is isolation. Yes, you are online with others, and you enjoy your business, but the need for human connection is very natural and important. Working in coffee shops and co-working spaces is good but seeking out real human contact is vital for feeling good. It’s also important to find real friends online that are also single business owners. It will ease your isolation, and it’s great to talk with others who speak the single business owner language!

What are the top tips you’d give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Talk About Your Business To Others

By Sabrina Espinal 2:16 pm

Let’s all do a “fierce forward”!

In my business, I often mentor and do start-up business happiness coaching (along with social media marketing). As a Business Happiness Coach, I often wonder why so many of us are reluctant to talk about ourselves and talk about our business.

That is a vast and deep subject but it certainly helps to have a plan…

  1. Everyone needs to “define their why”.
  2. Everyone needs to create an on-point Elevator Speech.
  3. Everyone needs to push past their fear.

And everyone should read this amazing article that will give you spirit, hope, and ideas to move on from fear.

Make A Date With You

By Sabrina Espinal 10:42 am

Making a date with you may sound so simple to do but most people put themselves at the bottom of their “To-Do” list. Scheduling in “self-care” sounds great but not always effective if it gets pre-empted with other activities.

So, what if we look at self-care as a daily necessity? Not a frivolous “thing” that we feel guilty about.

RECHARGING IS ESSENTIAL

Most agree that taking care of your self is a necessity and it’s important for:
Emotional Health
Physical Health
Spiritual Health
Mental Health

GOOD THINGS TO DO

Exercise regularly
Eat A Healthy Diet
Get At Least 7 Hours Of Sleep A Night
Seek To Have A Satisfying Work and Personal Life

SUGGESTIONS FOR BETTER SELF CARE from Jennifer Synder

Boost vim and vigor
Get sleep, nourishing food and regular exercise.

Treat yourself with respect and compassion
Don’t listen to negative people or critical messages.
Do not remain on a path of negative self-thoughts.

Time out for fun
Watch a favorite movie, play with a pet or create a scrapbook of
fun-filled memories. When you laugh heartily, it triggers
endorphins, which creates a sense of ease.

Expand your mind: slow down the aging process
Go on a weekend getaway or spontaneously take a new route
home. A change of scene can spice things up.

Spend quality time with loved ones
Attentive listening enriches relationships and adds joy to life.

Don’t expect to be a superhero
Say no to perfectionism, criticism, procrastination, petty grievances
and gossip. Do chores promptly and appreciate progress. Know when
to say “no”.

Get organized
Simplify home, work, and personal life to create more time for
yourself. Set priorities and attack cluttered schedules and spaces.

Communicate your thoughts
When you express your needs, wants, values and boundaries clearly, it
saves time and energy and makes you feel good about yourself.

Reserve time for simple pleasures
When you witness a beautiful sunset, have a good cry or laugh or hug
a loved one, it lifts your spirits and improves your total well-being.

FINALLY

Self-care is empowering way to take charge of your life. When we are overwhelmed, we lack the energy and focus
to make the same clear decisions that we normally would. If we take care of ourselves regularly, we can better handle
things that come into our lives.

10 Days Of Happiness Challange

By Sabrina Espinal 9:37 am

Day 1 – Smile To Others
Just the practice of smiling should make you feel good. Practice smiling and giving a smile to random people that you meet. Of course, be careful and use discretion but I’m sure someone will love getting a smile and you will feel your spirited being lifted.

Day 2 – Practice Love and Less Judgement

Today, practice letting things go. The world doesn’t need your opinion today.  People near you don’t need your judgment and your body doesn’t need the confusion of judging people. Let it go and practice love and less confusion.

Day 3 – Leave Nice Notes For Strangers

This is one of my favorite things to do :)

Write 5 nice notes and leave them behind the window on 5 random cars.

Day 4 – Get Flowers

Buy flowers and leave them on a desk of one of your colleagues (don’t say it was you).

Day 5 – Date With Yourself

Yes! Today is about and for you. Take yourself out on a nice date in your city! I know it might feel awkward if that’s the first time you’re eating out by yourself. But that’s the whole point. I want you to befriend yourself. When you do, spending time alone will be as spending time with your best friend. Besides, you deserve to go to a nice restaurant and treat yourself. Make it a real treat.

Day 6 – Visualize Your Perfect life

In the morning, spend about 10 min visualizing your perfect life. Do shortly after you wake up when everything is still mellow and quiet.

Visualize who are you in your perfect life, how you feel, who is with you, what you do.

then, throughout the day allow yourself to go back to that vision.

Day 7 – No Complaining

Go a full day without complaining, not even once, not even a little bit.

Day 8 – Morning Meditation

Meditate in the morning for 15 min. Simply sit down in a lotus position (or if that’s not available for you, simply crossed leg), close your eyes, and focus on your breath. The goal is to still your mind, so this is not the time to plan your day! You want to empty your mind. If a thought comes, don’t engage with it. Let it be and go back to deep breathing.

Day 9 – Affirmations

Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself 30 things you love about yourself.  Do it in the morning and see the true strength and beauty in yourself.

Day 10 – Gratitude

Before going to sleep, write down in your journal what you’re grateful for in your life.

And when 10 days pass, think about how you feel. Which day felt the best? And how do you feel now that the challenge is over?
