Manifesting Content Ideas – 6 Tips

By Sabrina Espinal 11:51 am

Sometimes the well runs dry and you just don’t know what to post. It’s that great big blank canvas. Silence. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

It happens to everyone but sometimes you have to add a little zest to your surroundings to turn on the content machine!

FIND A SACRED PLACE
A quiet corner. A loud coffee shop. Music playing in your ear. Try different environments to bring out your idea genius.

ASK YOUR PEEPS
Talk to your friends and peers and ask them what topics are interesting to them. You can even post this question on social media.

NOURISH THE SOUL
Nosh on a little comfort food or have your favorite cup of tea. It’s all about sparking the creative side of your brain.

JUST SAY YES
Just write down all ideas. Free Flow. One idea may spark a better plan.

KEEP THEM ALL IN ONE PLACE
Save all the ideas (no matter how crazy) in one place that you can easily go back to. Sometimes an idea will be perfect down the road.

Make A Date With You

By Sabrina Espinal 10:42 am

Making a date with you may sound so simple to do but most people put themselves at the bottom of their “To-Do” list. Scheduling in “self-care” sounds great but not always effective if it gets pre-empted with other activities.

So, what if we look at self-care as a daily necessity? Not a frivolous “thing” that we feel guilty about.

RECHARGING IS ESSENTIAL

Most agree that taking care of your self is a necessity and it’s important for:
Emotional Health
Physical Health
Spiritual Health
Mental Health

GOOD THINGS TO DO

Exercise regularly
Eat A Healthy Diet
Get At Least 7 Hours Of Sleep A Night
Seek To Have A Satisfying Work and Personal Life

SUGGESTIONS FOR BETTER SELF CARE from Jennifer Synder

Boost vim and vigor
Get sleep, nourishing food and regular exercise.

Treat yourself with respect and compassion
Don’t listen to negative people or critical messages.
Do not remain on a path of negative self-thoughts.

Time out for fun
Watch a favorite movie, play with a pet or create a scrapbook of
fun-filled memories. When you laugh heartily, it triggers
endorphins, which creates a sense of ease.

Expand your mind: slow down the aging process
Go on a weekend getaway or spontaneously take a new route
home. A change of scene can spice things up.

Spend quality time with loved ones
Attentive listening enriches relationships and adds joy to life.

Don’t expect to be a superhero
Say no to perfectionism, criticism, procrastination, petty grievances
and gossip. Do chores promptly and appreciate progress. Know when
to say “no”.

Get organized
Simplify home, work, and personal life to create more time for
yourself. Set priorities and attack cluttered schedules and spaces.

Communicate your thoughts
When you express your needs, wants, values and boundaries clearly, it
saves time and energy and makes you feel good about yourself.

Reserve time for simple pleasures
When you witness a beautiful sunset, have a good cry or laugh or hug
a loved one, it lifts your spirits and improves your total well-being.

FINALLY

Self-care is empowering way to take charge of your life. When we are overwhelmed, we lack the energy and focus
to make the same clear decisions that we normally would. If we take care of ourselves regularly, we can better handle
things that come into our lives.

Make A Date To Check Your Site and Social

By Sabrina Espinal 10:27 am

It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day work that we all forget to double checking “under the hood” of our social networks and website. Here are a few “must do” items to put at the top of your to-do list.

WORDPRESS
If you still aren’t sure about WordPress 5.0 and the new Gutenberg editor you should consider installing the Classic Editor plugin before upgrading to WordPress 5.0. This will keep your website in the current editor process that you know and enjoy. Link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/

Are you having problems with people taking your content? Considering installing a plugin that will protect someone from checking your code and right-click copying your text.  Questions? Reach out to me!

FACEBOOK
Go to the mobile few of your business Facebook page and click on “View As” (currently View As is only in the mobile Facebook app). Take a look at how your page looks to your followers and potential customers.  From there, pop over to your desktop and click on Settings and go to Template. You might have a lot of options showing on your page that you don’t need. Click on each setting and toggle off and SAVE each setting that you don’t’ want on your page.

You can also rearrange the order of some of the categories by simply dragging them up and down.

SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING
Everyone can get off-track with their social media for many reasons. Take time now to put together a quick strategy plan of what you want to post about for the next few weeks and schedule your posts. Remember to link some of your posts back to your website.

You’re going to feel good about posting and getting back on topic.

Extra Tip: Set a monthly reminder to write fresh content for your social networks!

SOCIAL BIOS & PROFILE/COVER PHOTO
Take 30 minutes and look at the bio/about section on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. Are the bio’s up to date?  Click on the links in the bio and make sure that go to your website.

Look at your cover background picture (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and your profile picture. Remember, you can add a call-to-action and link in the description of the cover photo on your Facebook business page! Hint, you can also add a link in the description of the cover photo on your PERSONAL Facebook page!!

6 Tips For Taking Your Own Pictures

By Sabrina Espinal 12:21 pm

Everybody takes pictures with their phones but if you want to up your game and use your images in your business, blog posts, or business social networks then check out these six tips. “Practice makes perfect” has never been truer when taking your own images and/or flat lay images for business use.

6 Tips For Taking Your Own Pictures

  1. Use Natural Light – there really isn’t a good substitute for natural light…unless you are a professional photographer (and I’m not). Play around with taking pictures with light coming in the from the windows.
  2. Background: I like using my glass table or my black desk. You can also buy large square sheets of wrapping paper and use the white side of the paper or purchase boards from art supply stores for a background.
  3. Objects: Plants, writing pens, laptops, coffee cups, note cards, small pictures, candles, etc. It’s up to you to find the right objects that speak to your mood and brand. I’m sure you have items at home that you can use.
  4. Balance: This takes practice and is essential for pictures and flat-lay pictures. You don’t want to clutter the picture with items but you do want to achieve balance. Take a picture and adjust the objects and repeat. I usually take 10-20 pictures.
  5. The Eye: You can develop an eye for pictures. Look closely to see if anything is out of place. When taking pictures outside look closely at the picture. Is your neighbor walking outside in his pajamas (that would be my neighbor) or did you catch someone’s child in the picture? You might want to retake those pictures!
  6. Edit: Use the editor on your phone and/or an online editor like PicMonkey. I also use Photoshop. Use the editor to enhance the tone to give it a polished look.

I like to look at various Instagram feeds for technique and inspiration.

10 Days Of Happiness Challange

By Sabrina Espinal 9:37 am

Day 1 – Smile To Others
Just the practice of smiling should make you feel good. Practice smiling and giving a smile to random people that you meet. Of course, be careful and use discretion but I’m sure someone will love getting a smile and you will feel your spirited being lifted.

Day 2 – Practice Love and Less Judgement

Today, practice letting things go. The world doesn’t need your opinion today.  People near you don’t need your judgment and your body doesn’t need the confusion of judging people. Let it go and practice love and less confusion.

Day 3 – Leave Nice Notes For Strangers

This is one of my favorite things to do :)

Write 5 nice notes and leave them behind the window on 5 random cars.

Day 4 – Get Flowers

Buy flowers and leave them on a desk of one of your colleagues (don’t say it was you).

Day 5 – Date With Yourself

Yes! Today is about and for you. Take yourself out on a nice date in your city! I know it might feel awkward if that’s the first time you’re eating out by yourself. But that’s the whole point. I want you to befriend yourself. When you do, spending time alone will be as spending time with your best friend. Besides, you deserve to go to a nice restaurant and treat yourself. Make it a real treat.

Day 6 – Visualize Your Perfect life

In the morning, spend about 10 min visualizing your perfect life. Do shortly after you wake up when everything is still mellow and quiet.

Visualize who are you in your perfect life, how you feel, who is with you, what you do.

then, throughout the day allow yourself to go back to that vision.

Day 7 – No Complaining

Go a full day without complaining, not even once, not even a little bit.

Day 8 – Morning Meditation

Meditate in the morning for 15 min. Simply sit down in a lotus position (or if that’s not available for you, simply crossed leg), close your eyes, and focus on your breath. The goal is to still your mind, so this is not the time to plan your day! You want to empty your mind. If a thought comes, don’t engage with it. Let it be and go back to deep breathing.

Day 9 – Affirmations

Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself 30 things you love about yourself.  Do it in the morning and see the true strength and beauty in yourself.

Day 10 – Gratitude

Before going to sleep, write down in your journal what you’re grateful for in your life.

And when 10 days pass, think about how you feel. Which day felt the best? And how do you feel now that the challenge is over?
