Facebook Fan Page Updates

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Do you want to send a message to all of your Fans or a target base of your Fans?  Here is how you can easily accomplish this task from the edit view of your page.

Page Admins can update their fans about new Page content, promotions, upcoming events, and more. Pages can send messages to either their entire fan base or target their update to fans in a specific demographic. The messages Pages send their fans will appear in the “Updates” tab of a user’s Inbox.

The “target this update” option will allow Page Admins to target their update by location, sex, and age. Only fans in the target group selected will receive the update from the Page.

  1. Navigate to your Page.
  2. Click “Edit Page” beneath the profile picture.
  3. Scroll down to the “Promote Your Page” section, located beneath
  4. “Insights” and above “Admins” on the right column.

  5. Click “Send an Update to fans.”

Hope this helps and remember that we can manage Facebook and all your social media networks at Sabrina&Company Social Media Marketing.

Don’t Let Amateurs Handle Social Media

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Why would you utilize a revolving door solution to communicate the heart and soul of your brand?

Don’t let your interns or friends  handle your Social Media.  I’ve heard it before.  “I have a friend who’s going to help me with my social media” or “I’m going to use an Intern to do our social media”.

Wrong approach. Wrong Strategy.  Just wrong. Social Media is complicated and must be managed with synergy across all networks.

Have you ever notice websites, fan pages and twitter accounts that suddenly go silent?  Interns are with your company for a few months and friends are friends.  Leaving your message to inexperienced people will leave your customers hanging in cyberspace waiting for answers and conversations with the brand they love. Take the time to find a company that will handle your brand with care.

What to look for in a Social Media Manager:

  1. Certification in Social Media Marketing
  2. Willingness to research, understand and care for your brand
  3. Presentation of a customized social media  community interaction plan for your business
  4. Solid at making recommendations and updating your social media plan
  5. Professional who has great communication and customer service skills
  6. Ongoing training and thought leadership insights

Look for a Social Media Manager that will give you a planned strategy and that will easily grow and adapt to your company events.  Always seeks a social media professional who will respect your brand and who can seamlessly manage and grow your community across networks.

Blog Zest-Give Back To Your Blog!

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Ever wonder how many blogs are just sitting and waiting for their owner to come back and post something new?  Technorati found that only 7.4 million out of 133 million blogs had been updated in a 120 day period. These statistics are from 2008 so you can imagine what it must be now!

How do you recapture the zest of blogging? First, ask yourself if you ever had the zest to blog! If you didn’t really want to blog…then pull the plug. Delete the site, close the door, get the monkey off you back and clean up the internet.  Now, if you do want to blog but you are just are too busy… here are three quick tips to get back on the blog track:

  1. Brainstorm and list at least 10 future blog topics
  2. Put a date on your calendar (at least once a week) to blog and be consistent
  3. Engage the services of an expert to keep you on track! Let them review and post your blog

Here are five topics to put a little zest in your blog:

  1. Interview others for your blog posts
  2. Pick a theme and make a series of blog posts
  3. Create a tutorial
  4. Do a “pros and cons” post
  5. Create a top ten list

PR Intern Opportunity

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

“We don’t care about your resume so don’t send one. What we care about is your passion”  You know this is going to be fun!

Internships are not all the same but all give an opportunity to learn something (even if you learn how not to run a business from your time with a company). I have a dynamic business associate who owns a public relations firm and she has a very unique opportunity for an amazing internship.  The lucky person will learn a little bit of everything in the PR  world and will also have the opportunity to work several PR events in New York City.

Let me know if you are interested and I’ll forward the details for the R Media Group internship!

Google Buzz?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

What do you think?  Google wants you to share updates,  pictures, videos, messages and more from your Google mail both online and on your moble device.

Share with people in your Google mail contacts and share updates, videos, pictures and more on Twitter, Facebook, Picasa, etc.  You can select to share with everyone or with just a few people.  Buzz will also recommend new people to check out.  Why does this sound like something we already have?  Oh, because we already do!

Check out the video below then check out more at Google buzz.
