Google is rewarding marketers who actively participate in Google+. In fact, if your Google+ page has 100 followers with active engagement, your websites search engine results position could improve as much as 14; and there is a HUGE difference between position 1 and 14 in Google search. Wondering how that’s possible? Over the past 16 months Google+ has been integrated into Google’s whole system, including Google Search AND Google Local.
Google Authorship – You need to love this!
Individuals who have a Google+ profile, are able to claim authorship over the content they put online. This means no matter where your content is aggregated, Google will see you as the original source, and will show your content in the search engines as the most relevant.
Google Authorship allows content creators to link the content they create to their Google + profile. It’s also a great way to offer users the opportunity to find additional content on your profile. Content linked via Google+ Authorship gives you massive credibility, increases your exposure, and improves search engine rankings all around.
Stop
If your taking classes on Facebook, stop. I love Facebook, and it is not going away but you should learn more about other social networks. Take a look at Google+ and see if it is right for you.
