Twitter widget issues? Yea, we’re all having them. Try switching to a Twitter plugin that requires the use of a Twitter API. I use Twitter Widget Pro which recently added the Twitter authorization process to their updated plugin. When you update or install the Twitter Widget Pro you will need to create a Twitter App.
It’s easier than it sounds!
Login to your Twitter Account on your desktop
Start here:
https://dev.twitter.com/docs/faq
Go to:
Application Management
Click on:
Create a New Application
And you will come to the screen below.
Complete the entries and in the “Callback URL” section put the complete url of the site receiving the information. Example if you are doing this to display tweets on your website then use the website URL.
After you complete and submit you will be taken to a screen with everything that you need. Your Consumer Key, Secret Key, Token and more. Typically you will only need your Consumer and Secret Key. Bookmark this page or just go to My Applications for future reference.
Copy and paste the requested information into the Twitter Widget Pro and authorize your account and you will have a very reliable feed of tweets to your website widget.
