My pick: Best and Worst FB Page Changes
At first, I thought my eyes were playing tricks with me. Then I realized that I was actually online and seeing Facebook make the long awaited changes to Facebook Pages. As a Community Manager or Social Media Manager or whatever you want to call it…we take care of a multiple clients and it was amazing to go back and forth between pages and see the changes appear and then disappear.
Best Change:
At first glance, I think the best feature is the ability to post as your page. This is an amazing marketing opportunity if it’s done correctly. Pages can not post on fans Profiles but they can post on other Pages. Create short and thoughtful posts and place them other Pages that will welcome your Page input and presence. Don’t ever sell in your post, that might anger the Page owner. You never want to have your Page marked as “spam” in Facebook.

Least Liked Change:
Facebook Page wall tabs were removed from the top and placed on the left hand sidebar. Big bummer for all of us who have designed fbml and iframe wall tabs for clients with not only great content but crucial “call to action” and shopping links. The focus on customized wall tabs for Pages in Facebook was the “money shot” the “ooohhhs” and “aaahhhs” the stuff that we designers lived for! I hope it comes back because that content is too amazing to get shoved to the sidebar.
In this screen shot the red arrows shows the new placement of a custom wall tab.

Remember: Facebook is a free tool so don’t put all your eggs in one basket!
