Everyone loves the thought of a fresh start in an exciting new year, and I’m no exception. Entrepreneurs are always busy and often overlook having all the basic fundamentals together for their business. As I started planning for the new year I decided to put together my own 5 quick tips to make a clean and productive start to the 2013 business year.
Hope you find these tips easy and useful!
1. Clean out your email Inbox
This might take 30-60 minutes but it’s well worth the time to clean up 2012 messages. File, delete and take action so 2013 will be free from the email messages from living in your in box. And, by the way, your inbox is not where messages should live.
2. Schedule your week
Really, take the time to schedule each day, including lunch and free time. You might be surprised to find that you waste a lot of time during the workday or that you have a lot of extra time!
3. Rearrange your office
Take 30 minutes to quickly clean and rearrange your home office/office space and place your phone, files and essentials in the best location. Pull out your most used files and put away anything that you don’t need in plain view.
4. Get your office supplies
It’s all about having everything that you need at your fingertips. Write down what you need while you are rearranging your office. Make a quick trip to the office supply store and pick up paper, ink cartridges, tape, pens and all the little things that you might need.
5. Email your clients
Put together a quick email marketing message with a great graphic, a warm happy new year and strong business inspiration message. Everyone wants a little inspiration and your clients will thank you for it!
Please share your tips! Here’s to you.
